Meet Seth

Seth is a network weaver, facilitator, coach, and thought partner.

Seth believes education is the key to communal liberation. After teaching high school for five years in private and public schools, he switched gears to develop a more personalized way for students to build academic and resiliency skills. He co-founded and led the hybrid for-profit and nonprofit organization Tutorpedia for ten years, which provided 1-1 tutoring for K-12 students. At Tutorpedia, he cultivated relationships and partnerships with schools, districts, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs and other after school programs.

Most recently, Seth worked for four years as a Program Officer at the Jim Joseph Foundation, managing a $40+ million portfolio of 20+ grants on leadership development, early childhood education, and education technology. He helped shape the Foundation’s emerging leadership investment strategy and co-designed and co-led a Leadership Retreat for cross-sector leaders in the Jewish education and engagement space, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, wellness, and executive leadership. He understands the demands and dynamics of the philanthropic world and now coaches philanthropists and CEOs on issues related to nonprofit boards, fundraising and development, and executive leadership.

From his years working and traveling with a vast array of communities, he has a huge network to draw upon when connecting people. Network weaving is one of his greatest joys. Today, he hosts communal gatherings for thinkers, tinkerers, and change-makers across networks to gather, share ideas, and create change. When we expand our networks, we expose ourselves to new ideas, generate greater empathy, and produce emergent solutions.

As we try to steer our world towards a more equitable future, Seth offers foundations, philanthropists and nonprofits tools to understand one another and more effectively reach their goals. He works with funders on an array of collective impact issues, from expanding college access and success for low-income and first-generation students, to enhancing wellness and mental health for Jewish youth and young adults. He focuses his coaching practice on emerging leaders—women and people of color. Gender and racial equity is a core component of his work.
